Denver Health opens new operating rooms Published 12/2/2003

Denver Health officially opened its new operating room addition recently with a ribbon-cutting ceremony. The new addition is located in the main hospital, and brings Denver Health’s operating room capacity to 12, each with state-of-the-art equipment and technology.

Patricia A. Gabow, MD, chief executive officer and medical director; Paula Herzmark, chair of the Denver Health and Hospital Authority Board of Directors; Ernest E. "Gene" Moore, MD, chief of surgery and trauma services; John Lockrem, MD, chief of anesthesiology; and Catherine Beckman, RN, director of nursing, did the honors of cutting the ribbon and opening the new operating rooms to the public.

These new operating rooms were funded through private bond money and federal funds, and will enhance the capacity of Denver Health Rocky Mountain Regional Trauma Center.
