The Arnold Silverman, MD Endowed Chair in Digestive HealthPublished 12/3/2010

November 4, 2010 marked the formal celebration and dedication of The Arnold Silverman, MD Endowed Chair in Digestive Health at The Children’s Hospital. The evening paid tribute to two medical giants; Arnold Silverman, MD, of whom the endowed chair is named and Ronald J. Sokol, MD, chairholder. Both doctors are leaders in the field of Digestive Health.
The Silverman Chair, one of 26 at The Children’s Hospital, was established by an anonymous donor to support great clinical care and research, medical education activities and excellence in patient care in the areas of Gatroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition at Children’s.
“I am pleased that the community has acknowledged the importance of an endowed chair in the area of Digestive Health and even more excited to know that this endowed chair will support the work of Dr. Sokol,” said Steve Winesett, President and CEO of The Children’s Hospital Foundation. “This fund will allow him to enhance the great research he already does, which will ultimately impact the lives of the many children served at the hospital.”
Dr. Sokol is the inaugural Arnold Silverman, MD Endowed Chair in Digestive Health, Chief, Section of Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition and the Digestive Health Institute at The Children’s Hospital and Professor and Vice Chair of Pediatrics and Director, Colorado Clinical and Translational Sciences Institute at the University of Colorado School of Medicine.
