SOUP! serves tasty fare, networking for Colo. kidsPublished 4/7/2010

Denver’s premier restaurants will serve up gourmet soup creations for guests to sample, all perfectly paired with Denver’s finest wine, beverages and desserts.

For over a decade, the Colorado Children’s Immunization Coalition (CCIC) has worked to increase childhood immunization through coalition building, provider education, community outreach and legislative advocacy. As a way of thanking its partners and supporters in a fun and creative way, the nonprofit is hosting the third annual SOUP! (Shots Offer Unrivaled Protection) event.

The event is presented by Colorado Capital Bank and the Gay and Lesbian Fund for Colorado and will take place at the Cable Center on the University of Denver campus Tuesday, April 27 from 6-9 p.m.

This year’s event will include culinary concoctions from: Abrusci’s Italian Restaurant, Coral Room, Dazzle, Il Posto, Jax Fish House, Le Central, Lola, Red Tango, Root Down, Sushi Hai, Strings and Table 6.

In addition, guests will sample desserts, beverages and breads from Great Divide Brewing, City Bakery, Grateful Bread Company, and Café Europa.

The soup-tasting event will raise funds and awareness for childhood immunizations and honor the Big Shot of the Year, Lieutenant Governor Barbara O’Brien. In addition to networking and celebrating, guests will and vote for the Best Soup and Most Creative Soup of the year

The event is expected to draw over 200 of Colorado’s pediatricians, physicians, nurses, educators, legislators, and public health experts to further CCIC’s mission of protecting Colorado’s children. Tickets: $50 per person, $90 per couple, or $35 for professionals under 35 available at For more information about the Colorado Children’s Immunization Coalition visit
