Question of the WeekPublished 4/7/2010

With health care reform finally headed for implementation, many individuals are divided on the issue of whether it is for the best of US citizens or perhaps could lead to damaging the system already in place. According to CNN, approximately 46 million Americans do not have any health insurance, while 25 million more are underinsured.

The White House’s Web site states that the new law "makes health insurers more accountable, expand health coverage to all Americans, and make the health system sustainable by stabilizing family budgets, the Federal budget, and the economy." However 14 states have currently signed up to wage a legal war against the constitutionality of the law, which has some portions taking effect within six months and others not coming into full effect until 2014.
