Growing in the right direction: MCR campus in Loveland expandsPublished 1/8/2008

Greeley Medical Clinic, P.C., Poudre Valley Health System (PVHS), and McWhinney are delighted to announce that the Greeley Medical Clinic will anchor a second Medical Office Building (MOB) at the Medical Center of the Rockies (MCR) campus in Loveland.

Greeley Medical Clinic will occupy 40,000 square feet and employ approximately 120 staff at its Centerra location.

The new medical office building will encompass 81,000 square feet and is scheduled to open in November 2008. This will be the second dedicated medical office building at Centerra, and like its sister facility, will be connected to Medical Center of the Rockies.

Greeley Medical Clinic, P.C. is the largest multi-specialty medical provider in Northern Colorado with more than 70 providers and 350 employees.

"The presence of Greeley Medical Clinic on the Medical Center of the Rockies campus will have an enormous benefit for health care in the region," said Rulon Stacey, President and CEO of Poudre Valley Hospital. "The extremely high quality services offered by both MCR and Greeley Medical Clinic will be located within a few steps of each other.

"This is one of those wonderful scenarios that most health care providers in America can only dream about - it’s a huge benefit for patients."

The new facility will offer patients easy access to physicians, the synergy of multiple practices and specialties, generous parking and immediate connectivity to the hospital.

George Hayes, MCR president and CEO, said physicians will also greatly benefit.

"The arrangement makes it possible for patients to benefit from the additional availability of an already wide spectrum of top-quality medical care. It also means physicians will have more immediate access to their hospitalized patients and the MCR services used by their patients, speeding up the delivery of health care."

"We are very pleased to have this opportunity to work with the Poudre Valley Health System and McWhinney. This will be an additional expansion of Greeley Medical Clinic at Centerra," said Barbara Yosses, Chief Executive Officer, Greeley Medical Clinic. "We decided to become a partner in the second MOB when we needed more additional space at the current suite for the Medical Clinic at Centerra, P.C.

"With seven other locations in Loveland and Greeley, we are offering to patients in the Northern Colorado area total coordinated care delivered exclusively by a multi-specialty group in Loveland or in Greeley.

"Patients will have the option and flexibility of receiving hospital care either at MCR or Northern Colorado Medical Center (NCMC) as the majority of our physicians have privileges at both hospitals.

"In addition to the partnership at MCR, our medical group is expanding and renovating our main campus in Greeley, which is our central hub. We plan to spend as much as $1.5 million in upgrading that facility to better serve our patients."

"We are thrilled to welcome Greeley Medical Clinic to Centerra," comments Ron Kuehl, Vice President of Real Estate, McWhinney. "The interest for medical space since MCR opened has been phenomenal and the new Medical Office Building will have an additional 41,000 square feet of space available that can accommodate another 20 providers."

Stacey says a major PVHS goal is to offer world-class health care while growing MCR and Poudre Valley Hospital, located in Fort Collins, as the population increases in Northern Colorado.

"The significant presence of the Greeley Medical Clinic in a medical office building adjoining MCR helps us meet the goal," he points out.

Greeley Medical Clinic, P.C. is an independent physician owned and governed organization that serves the Northern Colorado area.

It offers a full range of health care services which foster coordination of care and collaborative work among its many physician and surgical specialties along with other diagnostic services.

With one electronic medical record, a patient’s vital information and treatment knowledge is stored and immediately available. As a multi-specialty group, GMC makes health care work better in Colorado.

Poudre Valley Health System is an independent, nonprofit organization that serves the region of Northern Colorado, Wyoming and southwestern Nebraska.

With more than 4,000 employees, Poudre Valley Hospital, Medical Center of the Rockies and several outpatient clinics, the Poudre Valley Health System offers a full spectrum of health care.

McWhinney, headquartered in Loveland, Colorado, is a team of talented people who are passionate about creating great places for people and providing fabled experiences to our customers. Since 1991, McWhinney has planned and developed more than 5,000 acres in several master-planned communities and over 3.3 million square feet of vertical commercial and mixed-use properties throughout the Rocky Mountain region and on the West Coast.
