Lawrence R. McEvoy II, MD, recently joined Memorial Health System as the Chief Medical Officer.
A board-certified fellow of the American College of Emergency Medicine, McEvoy received his training at Stanford University and Hennepin County Hospital in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
McEvoy’s experience includes clinical work as an emergency physician for the past 12 years, consulting expertise in the development of clinical environments that drive high clinical performance and high clinician engagement, and leadership positions at the departmental and executive level at the Billings Clinic, a multispecialty tertiary care center in Billings, Montana.
"I am excited about the opportunity before us," says Dr. McEvoy. "This system has all the indications that it is intent on moving from ‘healthcare as usual’ to something that is truly exemplary. The opportunity to construct that future with the clinical and administrative people here is what brought me to Memorial."
McEvoy’s interests include "anything that keeps me fit or outside," coaching little-league baseball, horsemanship, and learning theory. He is the founder, president, and manager of Cove Canyon Grasslands, LLC, a 3000-acre land partnership west of Billings which is dedicated to restoring native biodiversity, preserving open space, and engaging communities in a sustainable economy.
