McKee Medical Center Cancer Registry earns Gold AwardPublished 11/20/2007

The McKee Medical Center Cancer Registry has been notified that it has received a Gold Award from the State of Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment for cancer reporting completeness.

Complete reporting contributes to the community’s cancer prevention and control efforts in Colorado.

The cancer reporting regulation of the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment requires hospitals to have all cases reported no later than six months after hospital discharge for diagnosis and/or treatment of reportable cases.

The completeness criteria for these awards are:

v Gold Award – 95-100 percent complete

v Silver Award – 90-94.9 percent complete

The award was presented at the 2007 Cancer Summit, which was hosted by the Colorado Cancer Coalition, Nov. 13 at the Marriott Denver West, Golden.
