St. Anthony Central Hospital Honors Flight Nurse As Nurse Of The Year 2010

Nate Hinze, BSN, flight nurse for Flight For Life Colorado was selected as Nurse of the Year, 2010, for St. Anthony Central Hospital. Nate was recognized for his outstanding practice skills and has proven himself as an engaging leader via his teaching. He is a consistent presence on the faculty of the “Flight For Life on Tour” series, a grant-funded continuing education series of conferences in rural areas. His interactions with his patients and their families is characterized by empathy and encouragement. He is frequently remembered and thanked. He represents Flight For Life Colorado in a credible, respected manner and is known throughout the region for his dedication to the field of nursing and the patients he serves.

Amy Barton Named Mordecai Endowed Chair in Rural Health Nursing

University of Colorado Provost and Vice Chancellor for Academic and Student Affairs Roderick Nairn, PhD, recently announced the appointment of Amy Barton, RN, PhD, professor and associate dean for clinical and community affairs at the University of Colorado College of Nursing, to the Daniel and Janet Mordecai Endowed Chair in Rural Health Nursing, in the College of Nursing. The endowed chair was funded by a $1.9 million gift from Janet Mordecai in 2007 that included four graduate student Rural Health Nursing Endowed Fellowships.

NO. While I believe some depressions are related to chemical imbalances, I think a far greater number are related to situational life events that create a significant amount of distress. People have a tendency to procrastinate on making life changes but readily pop a pill to "make things better."

St. Anthony Health Foundation Presents 240 Union Art Show & Wine Tasting

The St. Anthony Health Foundation in conjunction with 240 Union Restaurant, will be hosting an Art Show and Wine Tasting on Wednesday, July 14, 2010 from 6 to 8 pm. All proceeds from this event benefit the artwork to be displayed at the new St. Anthony Hospital in Lakewood, Colorado which will open in 2011.

The Emergency Department at the new OrthoColorado Hospital in Lakewood, 11650 West 2nd Place, is open for all types of emergency and urgent care needs. • Board-certified Apex Emergency Group physicians provide 24/7 coverage. • All RNs are highly trained in emergency care, including Level I trauma experience. • A Flight For Life Nurse is on duty in the hospital at all times. • Six emergency bays • Radiology, ultrasound, 16-slice CT, laboratory, EKG, telemetry onsite. • Accepting workers comp patients. OrthoColorado Hospital is a partnership between St. Anthony Central Hospital, Panorama Orthopedics & Spine Center and other orthopedic surgeons to provide state-of-the-art orthopedic care and all types of emergency and urgent care to the metro area. It is located on the new St. Anthony Medical Campus in Lakewood, Colorado. St. Anthony Central Hospital, Colorado’s largest nonprofit Level I trauma center and home of Flight For Life Colorado, is building a new hospital on the medical campus, which will replace its current location in Denver, and is projected to open in summer of 2011.
