The most experienced heart and vascular practice in Northern Colorado joined Poudre Valley Medical Group. The 18 physicians of Heart Center of the Rockies (HCOR) are now employed by Poudre Valley Medical Group, a multi-specialty physician group that is part of Poudre Valley Health System.

Qualified students are enrolling now for bachelor’s degree in nursing; grads will have workforce advantages Officials at the Community College of Aurora (CCA) and the University of Colorado College of Nursing at the Anschutz Medical Campus have announced the creation of the Integrated Pathway to Baccalaureate Nursing Education Program (Integrated Nursing Pathway). Memorial Health System reduced its spending on wages and benefits by more than $35 million in three years. The remarkable improvement – and the efforts by staff to make it happen – recently earned Memorial Health System a 2010 Healthcare Advantage Award by Thomson Reuters. The Colorado Springs health system was one of seven hospitals nationally to win for performance efficiency.

Patient Experience at Region's Hospitals "Outstanding"

Patient experience at region's hospitals 'outstanding' By Northern Colorado Business Report Four Northern Colorado hospitals were among the nine best in the state for "outstanding patient experience," according to a report by Golden-based medical-rating service Health Grades Inc. Listed as tops in the state were: Longmont United Hospital, Longmont, McKee Medical Center - Loveland, Medical Center of the Rockies - Loveland, Poudre Valley Hospital - Fort Collins. Also on the list: Avista Adventist Hospital - Louisville, Exempla Good Samaritan Medical Center - Lafayette, Mercy Regional Medical Center - Durango, Vail Valley Medical Center -Vail and Valley View Hospital Association in Glenwood Springs. The ratings were based on a survey of Medicare and Medicaid patients discharged between July 2008 and June 2009. It included questions on physician and nurse communication, hospital staff responsiveness, hospital cleanliness and noise levels, medication information and post-discharge care instructions.
