The Clinician Administered Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) Scale (CAPS) was one of the first diagnostic interview techniques developed for PTSD. Developed by experts at the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), CAPS is now the gold standard for assessing and diagnosing the disorder for both military veteran and civilian trauma survivors.
